Patrick BloomerOriginally hailing from Houston, Texas, artist Patrick Bloomer found his creative sanctuary in the serene landscapes of Australia's South West. In 1974, he made the transcontinental leap, immersing himself in the vibrant artistic community of his new home. Nestled on the picturesque property of Moonwood on Abbey Farm Road in Yallingup. Bloomer carved out a haven for artistic expression, constructing not only three homes but also an inviting art studio. Here, he not only pursued his own artistic endeavors but also fostered a collaborative space, drawing in fellow artists, renowned fashion designers, and musicians for enriching art classes and creative exchanges.Bloomer's deep-rooted inspiration stems from his familial lineage, notably his mother, a journalist and artist who curated his early art exhibitions in London, showcasing his intricate line drawings to critical acclaim. These exhibitions not only propelled his artistic career but also financed his laid-back South West lifestyle, where he found solace in the crashing waves as an avid surfer.Drawing from his upbringing surrounded by art, with a father who was both an engineer and a bronze sculptress, Bloomer's passion for creative expression runs deep. Now settled in the tranquil environs of Quedjinup, he finds himself immersed in a canvas of inspiration, drawing from the endless hues of the ocean, the graceful movements of birds, the vibrant tapestry of Australian life, and the kaleidoscope of colors that paint the landscape. As his artistic journey continues to evolve, Bloomer finds joy in sharing his creations with the world, with his work gaining traction through word-of-mouth praise and the support of his son-in-law at Nathan Days workshop. With each brushstroke, Bloomer invites viewers into his world, where the beauty of Australia's natural wonders converges with the vibrant pulse of artistic expression.
