My still life paintings capture beautiful moments. A new series, featuring flora and favourite objects are painted with precision onto raw linen to complement the organic nature of the image. Each has a remarkable depth and beauty

Dorothy Davies was born in Perth and lives in the southwest of WA. She has a degree in graphic design from Curtin and has lived and worked around the world.
As a still life artist she paints objects from the universe capturing a particular moment in time. We usually see objects only briefly but painting allows her to reveal their true nature and magnify them for all to see.
The universe already has the beauty, it's there in the fabric of their reality whether that be flora, fruit, a special glass or ceramic object. You can feel the heart of her subjects in the paintings as each has a remarkable depth and quality..
