I am fortunate to have made my living solely from my art for over 40 years. My mind never stops confronting me with new ideas, frustrating when I am painting the canvas in front of me...My favoured mediums are oil, sometimes with a textured under layer, or pastels with a metallic overlay...and I sometimes experiment with mixed mediums...to see where the journey takes me...and I love using strong colours....
Tight financial circumstances over 25 years ago, after a broken marriage, I decided to re-produce some of my art on commercial products, but ensuring all are produced within WA. This consists of placemats, prints, stubby & one bottle holders...When we have tough global financial downturns, these are affordable items and have given me a steady income...
With my studio space in Happs Winery/Commonage Pottery I am able to communicate with all visitors while they can watch me work. I am usually there on weekends in person but my art can be viewed 7 days...
Art is my constant passion, where one is another world away from the every day, and hopefully I can take the viewer to that place too.
