"Returning for her fifth year in the Open Studios, renowned artist Honor Denby will be showcasing her body of work in an exciting studio space that directly aligns with her rustic and eclectic pieces. The Barn, Margaret River is a repurposed milking shed set on acres of stunning farmland, where Honor hopes to create an exhibition that connects you with the space, all while showcasing her innovative and creative works.
Honor has been an artist for many years, a constant passion since childhood. Her skills are continually evolving as Honor feeds her growth and stylistic changes by participating in learning opportunities wherever possible. She enjoys the excitement of tackling new projects, paired with the challenges of selecting a suitable medium. As such, 2024 will see Honor not only venturing into a new style and medium of metalwork, she will also be hosting a variety of workshops for those interested in furthering their own creative endeavours.
Honor is often on the hunt for quirky and rustic materials to incorporate into her artwork, seeing potential in other peoples waste. This new direction in her art has given Honor more breadth to her portfolio and a greater meaning to the pieces. Her skills and abilities across such a diverse range of techniques has also opened opportunities for others in the community, with Honor facilitating ladies day at the Margaret River Mens Shed every Tuesday. Because of this continual exposure, the demand for workshops has been ongoing and this years Open Studios will feature a variety of exciting new sessions.
2023 saw one of Honor's most successful Open Studio to date with hundreds of visitors frequenting The Barn and viewing her works. She is now supplying her products to the demands of local and international customers both off the floor and on a commissioned basis. This year will be an exciting opportunity for her newest body of work to be on display and she looks forward to welcoming guests to her studio space."
