Artist Statement for the Website | As a fluid artist based in Margaret River, my work is an exploration of colour, movement, and the unpredictable nature of fluid dynamics. Through my use of acrylics, I create a wide range of functional art pieces, as well as traditional paintings that push the boundaries of what is possible with this medium. The fluid art technique that I use involves the careful spreading of 3 different types of acrylic paints onto the substrate. The result is a unique piece of art that is impossible to replicate. I love the unpredictability of this method and the endless possibilities it offers. Every piece is a surprise, and I never know what I will create until the final product has emerged. My work is a reflection of the natural beauty that surrounds me in Margaret River. The vibrant colors of the ocean, the rich hues of the forest, and the brilliant sunsets that light up the sky all inspire me. Through my art, I strive to capture the essence of these natural wonders and bring them to life in a way that is both beautiful and functional. One of my favorite things about working with acrylics is their versatility. I am not limited to canvas and can create functional art pieces such as festival tables, serving trays, lazy susans, coasters, trivets and jewlery. These pieces allow people to incorporate my art into their daily lives, adding a touch of beauty and uniqueness to their homes or outfits. In my paintings, I focus on the interplay of color and texture. Each piece is a study in contrasts, with bold, vibrant colors and metallic pigments swirling together to create a sense of movement and depth. I also experiment with different techniques, such as using a hair dryer to manipulate the paint and create unique textures. For me, art is a way of expressing myself and connecting with others. I hope that my pieces will not only bring beauty into people's lives but also inspire them to see the world in a new way. Through my art, I strive to create a sense of wonder and curiosity, encouraging people to explore their own creativity and find joy in the process. Whether you are looking for a functional piece of art or a traditional painting, my work is designed to evoke emotion and capture the beauty of the world around us. I am passionate about what I do and take pride in every piece that I create. Thank you for taking the time to explore my art, and I hope that you find something that speaks to you. |
Artist Statement for the Event Guide | I'm a fluid artist who creates vibrant and unique pieces of functional art using acrylic paints and pigments with a gloss epoxy finish. My work is an exploration of colour, movement, and the unpredictable nature of fluid dynamics. |

Briefly describe your studio space (is it in your home, shed, farm etc, is it filled with light, is it tiny or cavernous?) & can you provide a taste of what visitors will see and experience there? | My studio is located in my garage on our gorgeous property in Burnside. I will have some seating available this year as well as upgraded lighting. We have had the driveway re-done so it is now very smooth and easy to navigate. |
Describe the kind of interactive experience you may provide to visitors. E.g. are you demonstrating your art practice? | When it's not too busy, I will be doing small paintings which people can watch me do. I'm always happy to do a small painting by request. |
Are you sharing a studio with another artist? | No |
