My work is decorative mosaic, wall and floor tiles are my medium, these I nip, break and sometimes grind to produce tessera which I try to assemble in a "painterly" fashion to make stand alone pictures. Subject matter is most often derived from my immediate environment and has included land and seascape, portraiture and flora nd fauna.
My process most often is to draw directly onto the substrate, assemble the mosaic then employ the double indiect method to fix it by flipping it over to produce a flattish surface ready for grouting.
