In my paintings, imagination quietly bends reality. Through bold acrylic colour, I create expressive characters that feel slightly surreal and full of personality, inviting viewers to step closer and discover their own stories.

My current body of work, Living Between Worlds, explores the quiet, layered experience of inhabiting the space between one life and another. It reflects the invisible journey of leaving one world and slowly, imperfectly growing into a new one. Much of the work dwells in this in-between — that tender moment where a person is no longer who they once were, but not yet fully who they are becoming. While these paintings are rooted in personal experience, they are ultimately about identity, belonging, and the subtle transformations that occur when we allow new places and cultures to shape us.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, I create compositions that balance bold colour with soft, semi-abstract forms. The paintings are populated by vibrant female figures who inhabit playful, expressive environments. These figures are not portraits of specific individuals, but emotional representations of moments within a journey — fragments of memory, feeling, and adaptation layered into colour, gesture, and shape.
In this body of work, colour plays an essential role. Joyful palettes, expressive marks, and rhythmic forms reflect the resilience, humour, and curiosity that often accompany change. While the experience of building a life in a new place can include moments of uncertainty or disorientation, I am equally interested in the optimism that emerges through this process — the creativity, openness, and unexpected freedom that come with seeing the world from multiple perspectives.
Each figure represents a different moment along this journey. Some embody the excitement and wonder of beginning again, when everything feels unfamiliar yet full of possibility. Others reflect the awkward beauty of learning new ways of communicating — not only through language, but through gestures, customs, and everyday interactions. There are also quieter moments: the solitude that can accompany new beginnings, the humour of feeling slightly out of step, and the relief and joy of finally finding connection.
This collection is my love letter to every person who has packed up their life, crossed a border, and discovered new versions of themselves along the way. Through these paintings, I celebrate the courage it takes to begin again, the beauty of becoming a blend of worlds, and the quiet realisation that home is not always a single place — sometimes it is something that grows slowly within us.
