Marina was born in Zimbabwe where she lived for 12 years. She was raised in Cyprus and lived in Paris for six years and starting a family, before moving to Perth. She now spends most of her time at her home in the Yallingup Hills, surrounded by nature inspiring her designs at her home studio.
Marina’s journey into the world of jewellery design and silversmithing started when she took time away from the corporate world and began to explore her creative side again. She initially began with oil painting lessons at Fremantle Arts Centre and then move onto silversmithing classes not long after. Marina realised very quickly that this is where her passion lies. She’s touched on many techniques including keum boo, enamelling and the ancient art of lost wax casting.
In 2021, Marina had the opportunity of living in New York with her husband and Labradoodle, Ollie. She set up a little studio and was able to advance her skills through a variety of classes, learning new techniques to enhance her designs.
Marina works predominantly with sterling silver, gold and semi-previous gemstones. Her favourite stones to work with are solid Australian opals and turquoise.
