I am entranced by botanicals—whether growing wild in the bush, along the roadside, or in my own cottage garden. Even forced blooms in their sad supermarket sleeves hold a certain charm; it doesn’t matter where they come from. Each one is unique—delicate and perfectly imperfect. It is this wayward beauty that I try to express in clay.

In my work, flowers, foliage, and garden plants are pressed, cast, and recorded in clay and porcelain, transforming fleeting botanical detail into functional and sculptural pieces.

My process begins with close observation, often in the garden, where I study and translate these ephemeral forms by hand. Subtle variations are embraced, allowing each piece to retain a sense of individuality and movement.

Over time, rambling vines and botanical details have become a signature of my practice, appearing in pieces designed to bring a sense of softness and movement to the table and home. Influenced by my love of gardening and cooking, and an interest in the historical representation of flora in European ceramics, my work reinterprets these traditions through a more natural, contemporary lens.

I aim to create work that feels both delicate and enduring—capturing something of the transient beauty of flowers in a more lasting form.
