As a small batch potter, I create functional ceramics from my home studio in Broadwater, Busselton. I then glaze and fire my work in my gas kiln, which is located on the beautiful grounds of Kinvarra Park Lodge, Vasse.

In my studios, I work with a range of stoneware and glaze combinations to form unique and individual functional ceramics. I enjoy creating both on the wheel and through hand building. The varied style and structure of my ceramics is designed to reveal differences in form and texture and highlight unique qualities. I find clay a very therapeutic medium, one that translates well to story in artistic expression. My goal in glazing the work is to highlight movement and textural interest, encouraging the viewer to be drawn not only by the eye to my pieces, but also by the touch. Tactile appreciation is encouraged, and, as an artist, this active participation with my work is what immediately motivates me to further continue and extend my own practice.

Currently most of my work is sold through direct contact with customers on my social media pages and website. I also sell my work through an artisan gallery in Bunbury ‘The Red Mill Store’, which focuses on promoting local creators. I enjoy the online connection as much as face-to-face contact, as I have a lot of repeat customers, and fellow potters connecting regularly with me. Locals purchase directly from me through appointment made via direct contact. I have been a participant of Margaret River Region Open Studios for the last two years and had such pleasure meeting all art lovers and appreciators who visit to view, connect, discuss all things clay, and enjoy my work. These connections have enabled me to form relationships of appreciation and understanding through the bond of ceramics both locally, state-wide, nationally, and internationally.

I would love to welcome visitors to my Busselton home studio during this event. I am enjoying creating new works for you to view and am very excited to share my updated making studio. If you have visited me in previous years, you will find my work extended, and my unfinished large urn from last year now glazed and exhibited for the first time. It is always such a joy to connect to art lovers and share the experience of creating, discuss aspects of my creative process, and to have the opportunity to pass my work directly, from my hands to yours.
