Hi, I’m Toni — the maker behind The Wired Salmon.

I’m a small-batch potter based in Dunsborough on the South West coast of Western Australia. From my home studio, I create functional ceramics, sculptural pieces and statement jewellery using slab building, coiling and carving techniques. I am deeply drawn to texture and pattern and as a result, mark-making features heavily, bringing life and individuality to every piece.

I work with stoneware clay, building each piece by hand. Hand-building allows me to move at a mindful pace. I love the quiet focus it requires. Transforming a simple block of clay into a finished piece is more than just a craft — it’s grounding and almost meditative.

Alongside creating my own work, I also host clay workshops from my studio. My hope is that participants connect with the clay in a way that feels calming and relaxed. In a world that often moves too quickly, working with clay invites us to slow down and be present in the moment.

For me, it’s not just about making objects; it’s about connection — between maker and clay and between the finished piece and the person who feels drawn to it.

My practice celebrates the beauty of handmade and encourages a more mindful way of being— one piece, one mark, one quiet moment at a time.
