Marina Saker

  • Jewellery

My journey with jewellery design began when I started silversmithing classes and fell in love with the craft. I carefully source all my gemstones which feature in my work and predominately work with solid Australian opals and turquoise. I have a home studio in the Yallingup hills surrounded by nature.

Marina’s journey into the world of jewellery design and silversmithing started when she took time off work in the corporate world and began to explore her creative side again. She started oil painting lessons at Fremantle Arts Centre, however, it was her subsequent exploration into silversmithing classes that she found her true calling. Marina fell in love with the tactile and intricate process of metalwork, quickly realizing this was where her passions lie.

Marina's curiosity and dedication to mastering her craft led her to explore a variety of techniques, including keum boo, enamelling, and the ancient art of lost wax casting. As she honed her skills, the requests from family and friends for custom pieces grew, prompting her to turn her hobby into a small business.

Marina was born in Zimbabwe where she lived for 12 years. She was raised in Cyprus and then lived in Paris for six years before moving to Perth where now calls home. In 2020 Marina moved to New York with her husband and Labradoodle Oliver before returning in 2023. Now based in the serene Yallingup hills, Marina finds daily inspiration in the natural surroundings of her home studio. Working primarily with sterling silver, gold, and semi-precious gemstones, she places particular emphasis on solid Australian opals and turquoise.
