In my work I try to show appreciation of nature and beauty. I capture many deep feelings in my paintings and try to pass this experience on to the viewer.

I paint for pleasure, and can see beauty in the many different places I visit. Being in nature has a big influence on me, especially in the area where I live in Margaret River with its wonderful atmospheric and distinctive seasons. There is always inspiration everywhere. Acrylic paint dries quickly and this allows me to paint without fear of error. I can easily change and overpaint if needed. I can still play with colours, values and where the light source is coming from, without having to wait for the atmospheric effect to envelop my painting. This enables me to experiment with colours and still remain true to the desired effect I am seeking . The subjects I choose to paint are quite varied. There are many things which jump out and strike me as beautiful. It could be a still life, a figure study, a vineyard, animals, flowers and dogs. I love to paint dogs, they each have their own personality and I try to capture that in my work. I’m waiting with great anticipation for the open Studio experience where I can exhibit my new work and be able to talk with all the wonderful visitors and share this painting experience.
