Kate Debbo loves to create life affirming and joyful naive paintings that are about love, family and connection. Abstracted, colourful and painterly landscapes are rendered in buttery oil paint with the horse being a motif often explored within these imagined realms. For the artist, the horses are a nostalgic look at childhood dreams and they represent energetic beings, people and other animals in her world. Inspiration comes from everyday and from the beauty of her surroundings, her daily walks with her dog Seb or from a collection of special memories with her family and friends. All are painted from memory and imagination. Kate is represented by Linton and Kay galleries in Perth, and Paper Pear Gallery in NSW. Kates work is held in private collections around Australia,NZ,UK,Siongapore, South Africa and the USA. Kate is grateful to live with her family and paint in Margaret River on the traditional land of the Wadandi people.
