Code of Conduct for MRROS event

Margaret River Region Open Studios is a not-for-profit organisation that provides marketing for a 16-day event to promote artists at all stages of their career living between Busselton and Augusta and west of Sues Road.

As a participant in the 2024 MRROS event, you are expected to show respect and courtesy to others. All interactions should be professional regardless of platform: either online or in-person. In order to foster a positive and professional event, we ask you to confirm your agreement to our Code of Conduct.

1. Show courtesy and respect towards the MRROS Administration and Marketing team, Board members and any other volunteers working on or associated with this event.

I've been a passionate Artist since I was a young girl and I absolutely love creating works with a connection and meaning. This is my 4th year showcasing my work through "Open Studio's". It is such a wonderful experience meeting so many lovely people and fellow artist's. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all again and welcoming past collectors, visitors and new people to my studio in 2024.

I have lived in Dunsborough for 26 years raising my family and running my own business. In my downtime, I love to paint and explore artworks that have a special meaning to me and bring joy to my heart while creating.

Through my art I express myself through vibrant colours, unique textures and interesting shapes. I paint using High Quality Acrylic's and Mixed Mediums along with some new Collage Artworks from around my 'Home' and 'Under the Sea'.

At present, the 'Australian Landscape' compositions I choose to paint reflect the places I've lived or explored, capturing the beauty and vastness of our land.

My love of 'Flora and Fauna' are also a celebration in my artwork with bright, striking colours and has been compared to Mexican or Folk including some Graphic Design elements.

I have a strong desire to create everyday and it brings joy, beauty, freedom and fulfillment to my life. I hope this resonates to everyone who visits my studio. I'm looking forward to seeing you and talking about my art practice and how I fit it in around work and personal life.

Libby's diverse range of artworks are uniquely Australian, reflecting memories and places she has travelled throughout her childhood to today. Her vibrant, bold, striking patterns and textures, reflect the beauty within the Australian Landscape, Flora, Fauna and Ocean inspired designs.

Uploading your images

The process has changed a little this year;

Step 1 – Add 1 image that best represents your work for the printed Event Guide

Step 2 – Add an additional 9 artwork images and studio portraits for our marketing team

Step 3 – Add up to 10 images for your website listing – they can be the same or different to the images above

Step 4 – Add one main image for your website listing.

Each image must be 300dpi, between 2.5MB and 5MB, and formatted as a jpeg file.

Re-name all files to include your name, artwork title, year created, medium and size before uploading e.g., Jane Doe_Wild Seascapes_2018_Oil on canvas_10x10cm.

Please ensure the filenames contain only alphanumeric characters, underscores or hyphens. Special characters such as punctuation will cause the upload to fail.

Please add a photographer credit to the file name if required by the photographer.

(Note: we love to use smiling, welcoming studio portraits to promote MRROS on social media)

Studio Details

Libby-Jean Designs Studio is a very friendly, calm and welcoming space. It is attached to my home and although it is on the smaller side, it has lots of light and wonderful vibrant colours to immerse yourself into.
My Palette Knife artworks are very uniquely Australian with lots of texture and movement. I have a very diverse range of artworks including collage and other interpretations of the Australian Landscape, Flora, Fauna and Ocean designs.
There is something for everyone, whether it is some beautiful handmade cards, coasters, textiles, prints, jigsaws or original artworks to purchase.
I will be available to chat about anything and everything art or life.

I will be painting throughout Open Studio's, working on some new artworks over the 2 weeks.

The total fee for participating in the Open Studios Event in 2023 is $935 including GST, and made up as follows:

• Membership renewal $132
• Participation fee $803, includes compulsory Public Liability Insurance

Full payment is required upfront by credit or debit card.
