Artist Statement for the Website | Seasaltware is a small batch pottery, located in Margaret River on Wadandi Boodja. In the studio you’ll find hand built kilns, local clay processing, alternative firing methods and foraged local ingredients for clay bodies and glazes. Typically high fired stoneware and barrel fired pieces are created. Feature pieces are moonjars, barrel fired vases, wall hangings, porcelain earrings and mugs for your coffee! Inspired greatly by the ocean, forrest’s and river here in a Margaret River. Pieces typically show a soft coastal colour palette and have a natural and relaxed style. Wares are made for everyday use, and have been created in the hope that you can take a little bit of Margaret River home in ceramic form. |
Artist Statement for the Event Guide | Wild clay beckons, a barrel lit with fire, hand built kilns and a passion for pots. Welcome to the Seasaltware Ceramics Studio! See local clay processing, kilns built by hand and alternative firing methods. Feature pieces are moonjars, barrel fired vases, wall hangings, porcelain earrings and mugs for your coffee! Make a pinch pot while you are here! |

Briefly describe your studio space (is it in your home, shed, farm etc, is it filled with light, is it tiny or cavernous?) & can you provide a taste of what visitors will see and experience there? | The Seasaltware Studio is surrounded by garden. Semi enclosed by a stone garden wall and sunken into the hill. It’s an open and airy space, filled with birdsong and the swishing of the wind blowing through the tall Marri and Jarrah trees. |
Describe the kind of interactive experience you may provide to visitors. E.g. are you demonstrating your art practice? | Visitors can view my kilns, some are hand built. Take a look at a wheel throwing session, build a pinch pot which I’ll glaze, fire and post to you. See how I process wild clay and prepare pots for barrel firing! |
Are you sharing a studio with another artist? | No |
