Unlock a world of art this September

  • 2025 Margaret River Region Open Studios Event Guide now available

The 12th annual Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS) officially launched in Perth today at Linton & Kay Galleries Cottesloe, and the eagerly awaited 2025 Event Guides are now available.

MRROS Deputy Chair Jacquie Happ said the event’s 151 artists were currently in creative mode over winter, sprucing up their working studios for when spring arrives.

“Visitors experience a breadth and range of artistic expressions across the region from Busselton to Yallingup and Dunsborough, down through Cowaramup to Margaret River and Augusta.

It’s also an important opportunity for artists, sharing themselves and their practice, and seeing their creative pieces going to new homes across the country.

“With so much uncertainty in the world, MRROS provides a chance to feel connected through art and creative experiences.

“We encourage Perth art lovers to plan their next visit to the Margaret River Region during Open Studios, which takes place from 13 to 28 September, to rediscover their favourite places through an artistic eye.

“Pick up or download a copy of our new event guide and peruse the pages for art that catches your eye. Plan a self-drive journey down back roads and gravel tracks to discover studios in corners of the region you may never before have explored, and perhaps bring home a painting, sculpture, wearable art or pottery piece to enjoy for years to come,” Jacquie said.

Direct flights have just commenced from Perth to Busselton, adding another travel option to the region.

This year 29 artists will be participating in Open Studios for the first time, providing new talent and studios for returning visitors to discover. They’ll participate alongside some of Western Australia’s most loved artists and MRROS veterans who call the Margaret River Region home.

MRROS Event Guides are available now from Jacksons Drawing Supplies stores around WA and will be available in regional Visitor Centres closer to the event. The Guide is also online at mrropenstudios.com.au.
