I am inspired by the beautiful environment around me and I am passionate about spreading the joy that it gives me. I like to handpaint bright colourful pictures of Birds, Bush and Ocean Creatures using coloured stains mixed with clear gloss glaze on my Stoneware Pottery. I also like to create sculptural clay pieces that are fun and functional and somtimes textural. I have been experimenting with some native clay from our property to see if I can make functional wear with it.
I have decided that when I grow up I want to be a permanent Part-time Art Student as it is always wonderful to learn new techniques. Currently I am studying Printmaking at Margaret River Tafe and have produced my first Linocut print. One of my themes is "A Tree of Life" as all things are interconnected & we live in one big ecosystem. I also love creating unique garments from pre-loved clothes & I am going to try to incorporate my printmaking into textiles as well as my clay. Art is a big adventure and who knows where it will lead!
