For more than five decades, John Miller has been quietly shaping stories in gold and silver. With 53 years devoted to handcrafting fine jewellery, his work is recognised for its distinctive character, sculptural form and deep sense of place. Each piece reflects a lifetime of making, where craft, creativity and lived experience are inseparable.
John’s iconic designs have earned a loyal following, with collectors drawn to jewellery that feels both timeless and deeply personal. Revered as one of Australia’s most respected creative jewellers, his practice is grounded in traditional hand‑making techniques, guided by intuition and an enduring love for materials that hold memory and meaning.
This year marks a significant full‑circle moment. In April, John returns to Broome, where his journey began, to open a new gallery in the heart of historic Chinatown. The space represents a homecoming, reconnecting his work with the landscape, light and cultural influences that first inspired him.
Visitors to Margaret River Open Studios are invited into John’s world of considered craftsmanship, where every piece tells a story of time, place and the human hand. His jewellery is not about trends, but about legacy, made to be worn, treasured and passed on.
