Jacob Is a Production potter, Although often covered from head to toe in clay his work doesn't resemble such chaos, Jacobs work strikes a balance of durable, yet light. Colourful yet calm, and precise but not perfect.
Jacob strives to make his work to the highest quality possible although he will often leave little makers marks behind to remind the custom it was made by his hands. The pottery This year consists mainly of high quality stoneware, a small collection of some wild clay pots, as well as a collection of porcelain which Jacob has been working on.
Jacob strives to make his work stand out, by making shapes and forms you don't see everyday from delicate and smooth porcelain, wonky and purposly abstracted forms, and even wild, rough and raw clay. Jacob has something for everyone and doesn't like to limit himself to one or two designs.
Asides from the different forms, Jacob's glazes not only represent him and his story, but also the landscapes, colours and textures of the region, weather that be raw clay harvested from the region, to glazes representing the ocean or the land, Jacobs work is designed to showcase the regions beauty in a piece of pottery you can hold every day, a true piece of the south west that you can take him, gift to a loved one or hold in your hands.
Asides from making pottery, Jacob also offers teaching. Feel free to visit his website or speak to him in person and learn about the ways you too can work with clay and make some pottery.
