My journey as an artist is ever evolving. Where I am now, is a very different place from where I was 40 years ago when first making art.
My work then was more about reproducing what I saw in a beautiful way, staying true to what my eyes told me.
Now, it is much more about seeing what is in front of me, but portraying it in a way that I feel, and hoping that others join in feeling what I do.
My goal has always been firstly to enjoy what I do, regardless of its success, but then to create feelings of peace, joy, wonder and curiosity, even occasionally a poignant sadness, but forever hope.
Sharing techniques, product knowledge, ideas and the joy of making art has led to teaching many workshops over the years, with an increasing demand for creative outlets. I find that I learn as much from these as my students, both by increasing my awareness of how and why I do things, as by seeing the amazingly diverse directions that they each go when given the tools and right encouragement.
