My work explores the natural movement of colour and form through fluid acrylic techniques. By allowing paint to flow, interact and transform across the surface, I embrace both control and chance, creating organic patterns that often echo water, landscape and the intricate structures found in nature.
Using layered acrylic paint, I guide the movement of pigment to develop cellular textures, flowing lines and subtle transition of colour. The process is intuitive and responsive; each piece evolves as the materials interact, revealing unexpected details and delicate structures within the paint.
Living in the Margaret River region, I am continually inspired by the surrounding environment - the movement of the ocean, shifting light across the landscape, and the complex patterns found in natural forms. These influences are reflected in the colours, rhythm and sense of movement within my work.
Once the composition has formed and cured, each piece is finished with a clear resin coating. The resin enhances depth and luminosity, bringing clarity to the layers beneath and creating a glass-like surface that captures and reflects light. This final stage gives the work a sense of fluidity and permanence, preserving the moment when colour, motion and form come together.
Through this process I aim to create pieces that invite close observation, where viewers can discover evolving details, flowing structures and a sense of calm movement within the surface of the work.
