From an early age I have been fascinated with art and the life of artists in whatever form they create. Sculpture and printmaking drew me in as practises which are very guided by process. Begining with an idea, the idea becomes a drawing, the drawing evolves into a plan, the plan is taken into the artwork and becomes what it becomes. I have always loved this process and how the work seems to take on a life or path of its own. It begins to show you parts of itself and you, as the maker, become lead by the work itself. Theres a bit of excitement in that! Currently, i am making whales, swimming men, flying birds and a few boats. A recent return to printmaking has been a dream come true. All of my work expresses an interest in the idea of escapism and the entering of foreign worlds. I enjoy layering narratives and playfulness.
