Annie’s work is a heartfelt response to the environment around her. She is continually drawn to the natural world; the oceans, forests, landscape and plants. Enjoying the complexity of layers and mark-making, she strives to create interesting, suggestive surfaces and images that reflect the interconnectedness of the natural world.
Annie has been led by the exploration of natural pattern, paint and colour, drawing, collage and stitch. Her work often evolves through process rather than planning, where she allows the mediums and tools to inform the process and ultimate image.
Annie’s intent is to create artwork that evokes beauty in colour and marks, so the viewer might experience the same delight, reverence and connection to the natural world that she experiences.
