Jewellery has long carried meaning, marking moments, relationships and histories that extend far beyond the object itself. My work is grounded in this idea, with a focus on creating pieces that feel personal, enduring and deeply connected to their wearer.
Working primarily in solid Australian gold, I incorporate ethically sourced gemstones, with a particular focus on sapphires and opals mined within Australia. Wherever possible, I source stones from small scale, family run operations, prioritising traceability and supporting local communities.
Alongside my studio work, I create bespoke and custom pieces in collaboration with clients, developing designs that reflect personal stories and are intended to be worn, kept and passed on over time.
My practice is shaped by the textures and irregularities found in the natural world, alongside a deep appreciation for ancient jewellery, objects formed by hand and carrying the marks of their making. I am drawn to ancient jewellery from across time and cultures, pieces shaped by hand that still feel present, human and full of character today.
Much of my work explores the balance between refinement and imperfection. I aim to retain a sense of the hand in each piece, avoiding the uniformity of mass production and allowing each work to exist as its own.
During Open Studios, visitors are invited into a working jewellery space, an eclectic, lived in studio filled with tools, books, plants and pieces in various stages of making. You are welcome to take your time, explore finished work and gain insight into the process behind each piece, from raw material through to final form.
At its core, my practice is about creating jewellery with longevity, pieces that hold meaning, carry a sense of origin and are made to be worn, kept and eventually passed on.
