WELCOME

Thank you for joining us in 2026 and so generously sharing your studio as part of Australiaโ€™s largest open studios event. We're thrilled to have you on board and look forward to supporting you along the way. This registration form has save-and-complete-later functionality and may take a couple of hours to complete. Youโ€™ll also be able to update certain sections as the event approaches โ€” these are highlighted throughout.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to participate in the event, you must confirm that all work is your own and that you live and practise art within the Margaret River region (from Busselton to Augusta and east to Sues Road).

Please confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.

As part of your registration, please provide the names and email addresses of two fellow local artists who can endorse your application and confirm that you live and practise art within the Margaret River region. As Open Studios has grown, interest from artists outside the region has increased. This endorsement process helps ensure the event remains a genuine showcase of local artists. If you are new to the area and do not have a referee, please contact us at art@mrros.com.au

Please note: All artist registrations will be reviewed by MRROS and any that do not to meet the eligibility criteria will be refunded minus a $300 administration fee.

Code of Conduct for MRROS event

As a participant in the event, you are expected to show respect and courtesy to others. All interactions should be professional regardless of platform: either online or in-person. In order to foster a positive and professional event, we ask you to confirm your agreement to our Code of Conduct.

I agree to:

  1. Show courtesy and respect towards the MRROS Administration and Marketing team, Board members and any other volunteers working on or associated with this event.
  2. Use welcoming and appropriate language at all times.
  3. Be respectful of different viewpoints in a constructive and respectful manner.
  4. Focus on what is best for the whole event.

Insurance for MRROS event

All participating artists are required to hold Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover of $20 million for the duration of the event. By completing the registration, artists acknowledge and accept responsibility for arranging and maintaining this insurance. MRROS will not be liable for any claims arising from incidents at studios, and it is the artistโ€™s responsibility to ensure adequate coverage is in place.

UPLOADING YOUR IMAGES

Step 1 โ€“ Add 1 image that best represents your work for the printed Event Guide

Step 2 โ€“ Add an additional 9 artwork images and studio portraits for our marketing team

Step 3 โ€“ Add up to 10 images for your website listing โ€“ they can be the same or different to the images above

Step 4 โ€“ Add one main image for your website listing.

Each image must be 300dpi, between 2.5MB and 5MB, and formatted as a jpeg file.

Re-name all files to include your name, artwork title, year created, medium and size before uploading e.g., Jane Doe_Wild Seascapes_2018_Oil on canvas_10x10cm.

Please ensure the filenames contain only alphanumeric characters, underscores or hyphens. Special characters such as punctuation will cause the upload to fail.

Please add a photographer credit to the file name if required by the photographer.

(Note: we love to use smiling, welcoming studio portraits to promote MRROS on social media)

    Step 2 โ€“ Add an additional 9 artwork images and/or studio portraits for our marketing team. If you have professional photos in addition to what has been supplied, please email them now, or in the leadup to the event, to marketing@mrros.com.au
    Step 3 โ€“ Please add up to 10 images for your website listing. They can be the same or different to the images above, but If you wish to use the images supplied in step 1 and 2 you will need to add them again in this step. Please upload images in jpeg format (.jpg). Print quality (300 DPI) is not required. Maximum file size is 5MB. You can login and update these images later.
    Step 4 - Add one main image for your website listing. This is the main image that website visitors will see when browsing through the list of participating artists, and should also be uploaded in the previous field 'Website Images'. Landscape dimension is recommended, and your image will be cropped to fit. Please upload an image in jpeg format (.jpg). Print quality (300 DPI) is not required. Maximum file size is 2MB.

    STUDIO DETAILS

    Please indicate when your studio will be open during the event. Please note your studio must be open for a minimum of 12 days to be eligible for this event.

    ACCESSIBILITY GUIDELINES

    Is there a clear and accessible path to your front entry?
    • No steps or barriers, steep inclines, uneven or loose surfaces
    • Paths are clear from the carpark
    • Suits a walking frame or wheelchair
    Is your entry/exit point easy to find?
    • There is a sign that everyone can see for emergency evacuation
    Is there enough space for someone to move a wheelchair around your work?
    • Ensure that there is adequate space between your furniture and displays
    Have you got stairs?
    • Perhaps this is mitigated by a ramp.
    If you have a no to any of these questions, itโ€™s okay, just donโ€™t check the 'Universal access' box!

    MARKETING AND PUBLICITY

    The next section helps our marketing contractors get to know more about you and helps them in promoting your studio. If you do not wish to participate in PR and marketing opportunities, you can skip to the next section.

    Events, Workshops, 'In-conversation' events and Special Activities

    If you are running a workshop, in-conversation event or other immersive experience (outside of your usual Open Studios demonstrations) please include the details and a booking link (if required) here. You will be able to continue to add/edit your events when your listing is live. Events listed in this section will be featured on the Events Calendar page of the website. PLEASE NOTE: Events without a date or image will not appear on the website Event Calendar. If you are planning a regular event (eg a daily workshop) please enter this as a single event and include the days it will be running in the description. Please keep this section for special Events only - Demonstrations which are part of your regular Open Studios offering can be included in your Artist Statement for the Website instead.

    PAYMENT DETAILS

    The total fee for participating in the Open Studios Event in 2026 is $935 including GST, and made up as follows:

    • Membership renewal $132
    • Participation fee $803

    Full payment is required upfront by credit or debit card.
