Honor Denby is a bold, practical artist with a passion for turning reclaimed, rustic materials into striking one-off pieces. Working from The Barn - a spacious, light-filled studio set on her daughter’s farm in Rosa Glen - she brings together creativity, character and craftsmanship in a space that’s as welcoming as it is inspiring. There’s nothing fussy about Honor’s approach. She’s driven by the materials she finds - old metal, timber, wire and forgotten odds and ends - letting each piece evolve naturally. Her work is raw, honest and full of life, much like the studio itself. Set among paddocks, farm animals and gardens, The Barn offers visitors the chance to slow down, look closer and connect with the creative process in a real, hands-on way. Now in her sixth year with Margaret River Region Open Studios, Honor has built a reputation not only for her distinctive work but for the warm, relaxed experience she offers. Guests can browse a full display of artworks, enjoy a cuppa and chat about the stories and techniques behind each piece. She’ll also be running a series of workshops during the event, designed to spark creativity in makers of all levels. If you’re after something real, grounded and a little different - make The Barn a must-visit on your Open Studios trail this year.
