Nature’s intricate beauty has always been my inspiration. As a botanical artist based in the southwest of Western Australia, I seek to capture the delicate forms, rich textures, and fleeting moments of the natural world through my work. My art reflects the extraordinary plant life that surrounds me—native flora, seasonal transformations, and the subtle interplay of light and shadow.
Working primarily with watercolors and fine inks, I strive for a balance between scientific accuracy and artistic expression. Each piece is a tribute to the resilience and fragility of the botanical world, inviting the viewer to look closer, to notice the details often overlooked. My creative process is both meticulous and intuitive, rooted in close observation and a deep respect for the ecosystems that inspire me. In 2024 I travelled to the French Pyrennees to participate in a botanical art workshop and was struck by the light and the colours there and the differences to here in Australia.
Participating in Margaret River Open Studios 2025 presents a wonderful opportunity to share my passion for botanical art, connect with fellow artists, and welcome visitors into my studio space. I look forward to engaging with art lovers and nature enthusiasts, offering insight into my techniques, and fostering a greater appreciation for the flora that defines our region.
