Ben at CavesTimbers specialises in handcrafted hardwood timber and resin designs, focusing on one of a kind pieces of furniture, as well as smaller creations such as grazing platters and chopping boards. Majority of the timber you will find being used in these designs, has been sustainably sourced from local farms, or is from windfallen trees milled by Ben many years ago.
Ben loves creating custom pieces incorporating mixes of coloured resins with sometimes weathered pieces of timber that were destined for the fire. As a surfer, you will see that Ben draws a lot of inspiration from the natural colours and shapes of the ocean and earth, and this is often reflected in his work. If you are looking for a unique piece of furniture or even a smaller take home piece from beautiful Western Australia that is made by hand from scratch, and created with artistic flair and practicality in mind, then it's worth checking out CavesTimbers designs.
You will find a beautiful mix of South West Jarrah, Sheoak, Marri, Wandoo and Banksia, as well as some other local and exotic timbers, all made using the most environmentally friendly methods possible.
