From the wild winter storms that lash the coastline, to gentle late afternoon autumn breezes rustling through forests, paddocks, and vineyards, awakening sunrises to the sun-drenched beauty of local beaches; the moods of the Margaret River Region are ever-changing. Annie's passion is to capture all the charm of the region's natural heritage, the wide expanses, local industry & bygone settler stories to showcase the amazing beauty we are surrounded by.
Her passion also extends into framing the images in Western Australia's celebrated timbers - Jarrah, Marri Red Gum, Sheoak, Blackbutt and Karri, etc. Annie's aim is to make use of all-natural materials to finish her photography. Her philosophy is grounded in attempts to increase the recycling of the local timber industry's 'waste'; specifically the log face and off cuts all of which over time are usually sent to landfill or burnt as large piles. Her intention is to value add by creating beautifully handcrafted frames that complement her photographs. It is a vision based on using as much of the natural resources discarded elsewhere to reduce waste.
With the help of her partner Al, they scour the beaches and countryside for all sorts of flotsam and jetsam weathering away in the elements - old cattle yards, lichen-covered timber, rustic cast off's, and scrap metal often make an appearance in her finished peices. They see these materials as the perfect accessories to design and create something out of the ordinary - an engaging image in a unique frame, or in other words, inspired artwork.
