150+ Artists confirmed for September’s Margaret River Region Open Studios
More than 150 artists will open their studio doors from Busselton to Augusta this September (12–27) for the much-loved Margaret River Region Open Studios (MRROS).
Now in its 13th year, the award-winning event has become one of Western Australia’s most popular arts experiences, according to Chair Jacquie Happ.
“MRROS is a truly special event for both artists and visitors, offering rare access to art and creativity in the places where it’s made,” she said.
“Art lovers can explore the Margaret River Region through studios set in some of our most picturesque locations, from converted barns and sea containers to railway carriages and artists’ homes. The diversity of both art and experience is extraordinary.
“Visitors can create their own trail based on medium, from sculpture, painting, pottery, jewellery and glass, or by location or artistic style.
“We’re excited to welcome 30 new artists this year, alongside returning favourites. “There’s an incredible breadth of creativity, from resin and up cycled glass sculptures, handmade jewellery, encaustic beeswax art, stunning textiles, tattoo and large-scale sculptural installations.
“I am delighted to confirm that Private Properties has come on board as a Principal Partner for the third consecutive year. As a local business, this represents a significant commitment, and their philosophy of creating stories and lasting memories aligns beautifully with the spirit of our event.”
This year’s program features a mix of well-known and emerging talent, including Leon Pericles, Christian Fletcher, Chester Nealie, Mary Lynne Stratton and Nathan Day – offering visitors the chance to discover new artists or purchase work from long-admired names.
In 2025, the event attracted approximately 15,000 visitors, generating more than 110,000 studio visits across 16 days.
An A3 Event Guide will be available closer to the event from Jackson’s Drawing Supplies stores, regional visitor centres and participating galleries, as well as online.
Visitors are encouraged to book accommodation early via event

MRROS is supported by Private Properties, Tourism Western Australia, City of Busselton and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, Jacksons Drawing Supplies, Wayfarer, Shelter Brewing and other partners.
