I have a diverse practice that employs a range of materials that include metal, glass and alternative materials like acrylic and resin. I produce hollow ware (hollow ware is a technical term to describe thin walled bowls or containers) in both glass and metal. The glass is kiln formed and uses copper fusion to colour the glass or is textured and used in multimedia based sculpture. The metal hollow ware is created by the traditional method of raising or more contemporary methods that create 3 dimensional objects. They are usually produced in copper and patinated to create rich surface texture and colours. If I am not creating hollow ware I am either teaching or producing Jewellery. My jewellery is produced in sterling silver or gold but is contemporary in nature and may include the use of a range of alternative materials like acrylic, resin, stones or leather. I have produced work for several solo and group exhibitions and exhibited throughout Australia. My work is in several private and public collections, the most notable being the Parliament House Collection in Canberra.
